With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic alot of new suppliers (from outside of the industry) have emerged , all wanting to capitalize on the shortage of PPE (Personal protection Equipment) in the country , sadly this has attracted alot of scammers as well. We have listed a couple of ways of how you can vet/research a new supplier :
Look for :
1) Check if the company is registered with CIPC
2) Check the email of the person being used , Please look for companies with registered domains eg. @bmscientific.co.za , and not @yahoo or @gmail.com because anyone can make an email.
3) Look for a website and landline number. This give some credibility to the company.
4) Request Tax Clearance certificate or registration documents.
